About Mr Innes

James Innes is a primary school teacher and content creator based in Paris. He was born in Durham, UK, and moved to Belgium aged 11, seeing the beauty of language learning as a way to unite diverse communities and open a new world of adventure.

Spending nine years in Scotland, Mr Innes graduated from the University of St Andrews with MA International Relations and trained as a teacher at the University of Strathclyde, also acquiring a Masters in Education. He is deeply grateful for the five years he spent teaching around Glasgow.

Mr Innes is passionate about helping English-speaking children get excited about the French language and culture. To help kids learn through lockdown, he launched French with Mr Innes on YouTube with interactive, engaging and entertaining videos. He was honoured to feature in TES and The Guardian, as well as to be named one of BBC Scotland's People of the Year 2020.

Moving to Paris to be with his beautiful wife, Mr Innes combines video making with a part-time job teaching English at an international school. He is so excited to share maybe the most beautiful city in the world with you alongside a solid grounding in beginners' French.
