Frequently Asked Questions

CONTENT QUESTIONS

What age/level is your content intended for?

Kids of all ages have enjoyed my content - even adults watch my videos to learn French. However, the target audience is principally children in primary school who are beginners/A1 in French. For a list of the topics we cover in series 1, see the release schedule.

What should my kids expect from your videos?

Each video is formatted in a similar manner. Over the course of series 1, your kids will learn to count from 0 to 79, to pronounce 16 different sounds and to construct an array of sentences using vocabulary, avoir and être.

What resources come with your videos?

Each 15min video can be played at the start of a 45-60min lesson. Each episode comes with a set of flashcards and accompanying ideas for games. There are also differentiated worksheets, wordsearches and links to Kahoots and Quizlets.

How do I access the resources?

Underneath each video, you will see three tabs - 'About', 'Resources' and 'Comments'. Under 'Resources', you will find the lesson plan, flashcards, audio clips and worksheets. The links to the Quizlet and Kahoot are in the lesson plan.

Do I need to sign up to access your content?

Episode 1 and its activities are free to all. To access the rest of my content, you can sign up for a 7-day free trial. While this does involve entering your bank details, you can cancel the trial within the 7 days and not be charged.

Why is the video not playing?

Videos not playing is usually a sign that cookies have been blocked. I recommend accepting all cookies. You can do this by clicking on the black widget in the bottom corner of the page and clicking 'Change your consent' and then 'Accept all'.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Do you offer private tutoring?

Currently, I do not offer private tutoring. I am focused on content creation and teaching English at an international school.

Do you actually live in Paris?

I live in a town called Neuilly-sur-Seine, which is just west of Paris. Thankfully I am just a metro ride away from the Arc de Triomphe, La Défense, Tuileries and Louvre.

How do you film and edit the videos?

With the help of a gimbal and lapel microphone, I'm able to film on my iphone. Then I edit on my laptop with Final Cut Pro.

Why are you and Monsieur Claude Dubois so mean to each other?

At French with Mr Innes, we foster a culture of unity, respect, tolerance and harmony. However, the puppet Monsieur Claude Dubois has brought an air of competition amongst the presenters, as he vies for the top job. He also displays every French stereotype, which explains his rudeness and why I don't think he is an appropriate choice of anchor.
